Post Noisy Miners
We have a big problem with the Noisy Miners. We live on a 3.6 acre property in SE Queensland.
The Noisy Miners are so many in our yard and they chase all other birds away. Since we moved in last September we have lost nearly all other birds  .
There are many native plants in the garden, that is not the problem.
Does anybody have an advice for us?

Thanks.
Bonnie

Post Re: Noisy Miners
This is something I read on the web:
"Do you have a well defined understorey in your garden or is it mostly just shrubs at the same level? A range of different sized plants is essential in encouraging other birds to stay in the Noisy Miners territory. The cover may increase the possibility for small birds to coexist with them. Perhaps we need to think more about planting shrubs that provide protective refuges and nests sites, and not just focus on those plants that provide food. "
Luckily, in my garden, all birds seem to be living in harmony (see pic), herons, pigeons, miners, lorikeets, honey eaters, magpies, pheasant couckals, etc. It's only a tiny backyard but they all love to pop in for a feed of nectar and a drink or dip in the bird bath.. I enjoy this variety so I hope you can see some more birds again very soon, too.
